As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Alts Platform group, your role will be to spearhead a technical team dedicated to the creation and delivery of industry-leading technology products for a green field project. Leveraging your comprehensive understanding of software, applications, technical processes, and product management, you will manage multiple complex projects and initiatives. You will serve as the key decision maker for your team, fostering innovation and ensuring the successful delivery of solutions.
Job responsibilities
- Lead a team of high-potential software engineers, delivering high quality software that achieves functional objectives
- Carries accountability for coding decisions and achieving measures of success
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
- Develops secure high-quality code, reviews and debugs code written by the team
- Demonstrate ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues
- Leads evaluation sessions with other internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs
- Mentors and coaches team members, with a focus on building and managing industry leading products exceeding business expectations
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Java programming concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Experience leading cross-functional teams of technologists
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced knowledge of front-end languages and frameworks (e.g. typescript/react)
- Advanced knowledge of server-side languages and frameworks (e.g. Java/SpringBoot)
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages
- Experience in Microservices architecture
- Proficient in Database technologies
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Practical cloud native experience - AWS preferred
