Your Impact
The primary purpose of this role is to provide consultation and technical direction on translating business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs. This includes facilitating the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications. This role serves as a technical expert for project teams throughout the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions. In addition, this role personally develops and delivers code modules, stable application systems, and integrated enterprise software solutions within various computing environments.
What will you do
- Resolves complex problems spanning multiple applications to drive improvements across portfolios; leads projects with significant business implications and participates in planning, prioritization and estimates
- Leads development of integrated business and/or enterprise application to ensure solution is resilient, scalable, and maintainable and meet architectural standards
- Builds awareness and product alignment to enterprise recommended frameworks, tools, technologies, engineering platforms, and architectural processes
- Drives operational excellence through disaster recovery and capacity planning, performance and chaos testing, observability alerts and dashboards, and reliability processes and recovery runbooks
- Deconstructs complex problems into simple solutions that can evolve over time
- Educates others on engineering standards and best practices, including code quality analysis, test coverage, security principles (authentication and authorization protocols), AGILE processes
- Mentors and advises others by applying and sharing an in-depth understanding of enterprise and industry technologies, tools, methodologies, policies, standards and best practices
- Continuously explores and recommends new enterprise software components and technologies (libraries, framework, tools, DBs, etc.)
- Continuously works to simplify solutions, optimize processes, remove bottlenecks, and resolve escalated issues
- Demonstrates expertise in at least 2 of the four competencies below and working knowledge of others:
- Fronted: Building UI using React and NodeJS with proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS
- Middleware: Building resource efficient, scalable, and resilient Microservices and APIs using Java/Python/Go, Experience with Kafka, Airflow, IBM MQ, ReST APIs,
- Databases: Building optimal database persistence solutions using right database technologies (ex, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, KAFKA, etc.)
- DevOps: Creating automated CI-CD processes using containerization solutions (Docker), CI tools (Drone, Jenkins, Spinnaker), Orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm) and Infrastructure automation (ArgoCD, Rancher, Ansible, Terraform, Chef)
- Experience with Hadoop and Hive
- Experience with scripting like Shell scripts
- Experience with GCP or any public cloud
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)• 7 years of experience in software development or a related field • 6 years of experience in database technologies• 6 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)
Preferred Qualifications • Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field• 6 years of IT experience developing and implementing business systems within an organization• 6 years of experience working with defect or incident tracking software• 6 years of experience writing technical documentation in a software development environment• 4 years of experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework• 4 years of experience leading teams, with or without direct reports• 6 years of experience working with source code control systems• Experience working with Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment tools• 6 years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements and performing high level design for complex solutions
