Job Description
The Trust & Safety organization at JP Morgan Chase offers the unique opportunity to work with a highly talented team at the forefront in infrastructure development. The team has built cutting edge capabilities such as a decision engine, dynamic rule authoring, real-time data aggregation, and velocity engine to name a few. Your role is vital in shaping a trusted platform that drives essential functions of Risk, Compliance and Identity teams. As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Trust and Safety, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you will contribute to development on the new Risk Engine for JPMorgan Chase that will be used across multiple payments platforms and products. This involves designing highly distributed and scalable systems to process financial data, working with product teams deliver a great experience for enterprise level clients.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
- Triage production issues and follow on-call processes
- Highly motivated individual with strong work ethic
- Contribute to design documentation.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) like JAVA or Python.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline
- Practical cloud native experience ( AWS or GCP ).
- Knowledge of distributed systems design
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with data streaming and building pipelines with tools such as Apache Pinot, Flink, Kafka
- Experience in API design.
- Experience in fintech.
