As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Atlas On Premise and Next Generation Infrastructure team, you will be a seasoned member of a small, high-paced agile team spanning the UK, Ireland, and the US. You will play a pivotal role in delivering a first-class private cloud offering, focusing on enabling multiple hypervisor platforms and striving for a consistent end user experience across both on-premise and public cloud environments. Job responsibilities
- Execute software solutions across design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond routine approaches to build innovative solutions and break down complex technical problems
- Create secure and high-quality production code, maintaining algorithms and systems that support robust private cloud infrastructure
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met throughout the software development lifecycle
- Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the UK, Ireland, and the US to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure private cloud services
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices
- Proficiency in coding in Java, GoLang, or equivalent modern programming languages
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large, complex environment
