Job Description
Lead Software Engineer (Kansas City, MO.; DST Technologies, Inc.): The Lead Software Engineer will have experience in developing business intelligence solutions that will help expand our market leading WalletShare product. Specific responsibilities include: Analyzing, designing programs, and modifying software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related computer programs. Code may be used in commercial or end-user applications, such as materials management, financial management, mobile apps or desktop applications products; Using current programming
and technologies and leveraging BDD (Behavior Drive Development)/TDD (Test Driven Development) methodologies; Writing code, completing programming, and performing and debugging of applications; Completing documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications; Providing an escalation point for client issues related to software development and support; Adhering to Software Engineering and Information Security Controls; aligns with enterprise architectural strategies and; Closing existing software defects and ensuring maintenance of architectural diagrams. Telecommuting permitted.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field plus 6 years of software engineering experience.
Alternative education and experience: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field plus 4 years of software engineering experience.
Must have: 4 years of experience in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load). 4 years of experience in with ETL tool IBM DataStage or Talend. 4 years of experience with Java and Python coding languages. 2 years of experience with public or private cloud environments. 2 years of experience within business intelligence, advanced analytics and data visualization. 2 years of experience within a SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) utilizing the Agile methodology. 1 year of experience with modern big data technologies like Hadoop. 4 years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases. 4 years of experience with GitHub or Gitlab code repositories.
