As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management Technology, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for developing and implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. You are responsible for designing and implementing UI and back end services for data science projects with a focus on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets.
Job responsibilities
- Lead and drive project implementation with a strong emphasis on hands-on development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex web applications, ensuring code quality, building reusable components and optimize components.
- Write secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members.
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
- Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
- Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
- Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Proficient in coding in Java language and React js
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model with thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles.
- Strong proficiency in data-structures and algorithms.
- Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Redux).
- Familiarity with newer specifications of ECMAScript (ES6+)
- Hands-on programming/application development experience in Spring Boot, REST/API. Proficiency in: SQL/Hibernate,
experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages - Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git and knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with microservice architecture and event-driven patterns.
- Exposure to AWS cloud services.
- Knowledge in automated build and testing tools like Jenkins, Cucumber, Cypress/Playwright.
