At DermaScan, we tackle one of today’s most pressing health challenges: skin cancer. Over the last 30 years, the number of skin cancer cases has multiplied by five, while the number of dermatologists in France has dropped by 20%.

Thanks to an innovative patient journey and the spectacular advancements offered in the fields of hardware and Artificial Intelligence, DermaScan intends to provide a sustainable solution to this problem by creating physical centers dedicated to skin cancer screening.

Founded in September 2024 by Florian Legris (CEO) and Hadrien Lepage (CTO), both repeat entrepreneurs, DermaScan is built to make a lasting impact on public health.

We’re launched by Hexa Health 🚀
Hexa (eFounders) is a pioneer startup studio in Europe, having launched 35+ companies, including unicorns like Front, Aircall and Spendesk combining €230m+ ARR and €750m raised.
🩺 In early 2024, Hexa Health was launched with Julien Meraud to empower founders and doctors in building companies that put time back into the healthcare system. Our vision: move beyond traditional care models to design innovative care pathways tailored to today’s challenges.
You’ll get to participate in a unique way of entrepreneurship, which involves building companies as a team.
Your mission: build and lead our software
As our Lead Software Engineer and one of the first tech hire, you'll be instrumental in building DermaScan’s product from the ground up. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the CTO and other key technical leaders — hardware & AI/ML.
You will also collaborate closely with healthcare professionals (doctors, dermatologists, nurses, patients) to turn real-world needs into cutting-edge digital tools.
At DermaScan, three major technical pillars drive our innovation:
→ Hardware — medical imaging devices,
→ Artificial Intelligence — computer vision models for dermatology,
→ Software — the clinical-grade digital platform.
You will own the Software pillar.
As our lead software engineer and founding team member, you will:
Architect, build, and scale the entire software stack.
Assemble and lead a team of engineers over time to shape the future of our product.
Work directly with our different users (doctors, nurses, patients) to translate real-world needs into seamless digital solutions.
Interface closely with the hardware and AI teams to ensure full integration across our systems.
This role is built for someone seeking autonomy, responsibility, and impact. You’ll be at the heart of all software decisions, and critical to bringing DermaScan’s vision to life.
What you'll do
- Own the technical architecture, coding practices, and long-term software roadmap.
- Develop and improve the web and mobile interfaces used by doctors, nurses and patients. Considering our technical choices (see details below) most of this work will be front-end.
- Integrate hardware devices into our software ecosystem.
- Implement security best practices from day one to handle sensitive health data.
- Stay connected with AI research and emerging skin imaging technologies to keep our stack cutting-edge.
- Recruit and lead the engineering team as we scale.
