WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US 

Reliable, high-performing software helps investment professionals make informed decisions and run critical business processes. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help evolve the Portfolio Analytics area of SimCorp Dimension, strengthening the backend services and APIs that support our clients. 

You will join an agile team of 5–7 colleagues working with C#, .NET, Dyalog APL, Oracle, and AI-assisted development tools. The team improves and supports the Asset Manager module in our SimCorp Dimension product. We use a variety of technologies, but the main ones are C# and an Oracle database. You will be working with backend and APIs. The present and near future main topics are good maintainability, high system performance, continuous integration, and delivery, and moving into our unified platform for cloud. We welcome engineers who are ready to grow further in technical leadership as well as those who already have experience guiding others. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR 

• Collaborate with product and engineering colleagues to understand customer needs, challenge assumptions, shape solutions, and deliver tested, supportable software. 

• Design, build, and maintain backend components and APIs for SimCorp Dimension using C#/.NET and related technologies.  

• Improve system performance, maintainability, reliability, and build efficiency through pragmatic engineering and continuous improvement. 

• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to support activities such as exploration, implementation, testing, documentation, and code review. 

• Contribute to automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices that enable predictable, high-quality releases. 

• Help shape technical decisions and share knowledge through code reviews, pairing, mentoring, and constructive collaboration across the team. 

WHAT WE VALUE 

• Experience developing production software with C# and/or APL, or comparable experience that demonstrates strong backend engineering capability. 

• Interest in contributing to technical design and helping the team make practical decisions about scalable, high-performing applications, services, or APIs. 

• Familiarity with software delivery practices such as automated testing, version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery. 

• Openness to using AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully, while maintaining sound judgement around quality, security, and maintainability. 

• Curiosity and willingness to learn additional technologies, including Dyalog APL, and to deepen your understanding of investment-management software. 

• A collaborative approach to solving problems, sharing knowledge, and growing into technical leadership.  

• Experience with Angular, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Oracle databases, or financial systems is welcome but not required.
