As a Lead Software Engineer at Coupa, you will be the technical anchor for one of our core business domains. You will split your time between hands-on high-level system design and coding, coordinating technical strategies across a pod of developers, and integrating next-generation capabilities (like Generative AI and LLMs) into our spends management platform.
What You’ll Do:
- Domain Ownership: Architect and lead the development of one or more major platform areas of Coupa’s globally scaling SaaS products.
- AI Integration: Design and implement next-generation AI features, including hands-on integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) and custom AI Gateways.
- Collaboration & Delivery: Partner with Product, Design, and Enterprise Architecture teams to build end-to-end features that resolve complex financial spend issues.
- Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize performance, simplify existing system code, and enhance CI/CD pipelines.
- Customer Advocacy: Partner with customer support and professional services teams to quickly debug and resolve escalated, complex client-facing production issues .
What You Will Bring to Coupa
- Experience: 8+ years of overall experience developing web applications or platforms, with 1-2 years of experience acting as a pod or technical lead .
- Core Technical Skills:
- Advanced mastery of .NET Core / .NET 8+, including asynchronous programming and complex background processing engines.
- Proven experience migrating legacy monolith structures into cloud-native microservices and distributed computing architectures.
- Advanced relational and NoSQL database modeling.
- Experience with enterprise message brokers (such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Rescue) .
- Leadership Qualities: Strong ability to make technical decisions with minimal direction and guide a globally distributed team in an agile ecosystem .
