We are hiring a Remote Lead Software Developer.

The Lead Software Developer is a senior position in software development, responsible for guiding a team of developers, making technical decisions, and ensuring project success. This role involves heavy focus on providing technical solutions to business problems and enhancements, architecture design, code reviews, mentoring and application development. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective communication are essential for success in this role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. As a hands-on leader, guide and contribute to multiple project processes, including design, implementation, and verification and validation.
2. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and timelines. Break down the development process into manageable tasks and create a roadmap for successful project delivery.
3. Establish and ensure technical standards and procedures are followedby the development team.
4. Mentor technical team members in software development, troubleshooting and other aspects of the SDLC.
5. Ensure regular code reviews are performed and standards are followed.
6. Identify risks, dependencies, technical debt and recommend mitigations and other improvements.
7. Provide assessments and solutions, including estimates, for requests of the software development team.
8. Stay on top of new technology opportunities and how they may apply to business today and in the future.
9. Support cross-team collaboration, ensuring unified processes and procedures are leveraged when beneficial.
10. Developing code in accordance with defined requirements.
11. Lead the investigation and resolution of technical problems that may arise during development or in the production environment.
12. Look for ways to improve processes, code quality, and team productivity. Encourage innovation and advocate for the adoption of new tools and methodologies when appropriate.
13. All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

1. BS/BA Computer Science or similar degree or applicable job experience; 10+ years in software development.
2. 10+ years of experience with Microsoft .NET.
3. 10+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
4. Extensive background with Windows Services and Web Services (REST and SOAP).
5. Experience with VBA (older system support).
6. Ability to convert business requirements into actionable technical requirements.
7. Ability to work with globally diverse teams.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Excellent organizational skills.
