What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Acts as a technical resource for other employees on the team. May provide work direction and assign tasks and/or coach and mentor them.
  • Applies technical approaches to best resolve problems. Keeps current with new approaches in the field (e.g., classes, reading, working with experts)
  • Create & maintain technical specifications for all development work. Be able to multi-task development work along with working with other team members (developers and Business system analysts -BSA).
  • Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support project efforts.
  • Comply with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices.
  • As directed, develop and maintain application interfaces, reports, conversion programs, and custom functionality.
  • Understand emerging technology and infrastructure as it relates to development and architecture (operating systems, security, hardware, etc.)
  • Learn and upgrade skills in development by attending classes or training.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration and 8 + years' experience in SAP ABAP development or equivalent years of experience
  • Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand the business issues surrounding each project.
  • Ability to respond directly to questions from business clients.
  • Interfaces with all levels of management to negotiate project priorities and outcomes.

Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support
  • Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to mentor and work with other team members
  • Ability to work with and to understand business client requirements.
  • Work with team located globally in different time zones and plan working overlapping hours as necessary.

Applicable Applications Experience:

  • Proficiency with ABAP in SAP modules (SD, MM, PP, FICO, FSCM)
  • Strong background in ABAP ECC 6.0 development:
    • Classical and Object-Oriented ABAP including Open SQL
    • Report development with ALV's, SAP Query, Quickviewer
    • ALE, BAPIs, IDocs, Web Services (REST and SOAP), NetWeaver Gateway
    • Conversions using BAPI, BDC, LSMW
    • User Exits, Customer Exits, BTE, BAdI, Enhancement Framework
    • Dialog programming, RF screen development.
    • SAP Scripts, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms
    • Odata Web services
    • NetWeaver Developer Studio in an ECC 6.0 environment
  • Understanding of application architecture, system design and proven UML tools
  • SAP Workflow design, change, and support a plus
  • ABAP programming on SAP HANA a plus
  • Experience working with SAP Add-ons (OpenText VIM, Ariba) is a plus.
  • Working with CDS views is a plus.
  • Fiori debug/development experience using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript a plus.

It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
