As Lead Skills, you will play a pivotal role in transforming NN into a skills-based organisation, ensuring that skills are embedded as a core component of our people strategy. You will be the business owner of the enterprise skills framework, responsible for defining, governing, and embedding skills as a core building block of our workforce planning and talent practices. You will ensure a consistent and future-focused approach to skills across NN, connecting business strategy, workforce needs, and employee development. Working closely with HR Centres of Expertise (possible future product teams), HR Business Partners, Data & Digital, and business stakeholders, you will translate strategic workforce requirements into a scalable skills architecture that enables internal mobility, workforce agility, and sustainable talent development.
What you are going to do
Key Responsibilities:
- Skills Strategy and Governance: Own and evolve NN's enterprise skills framework, maintaining the skills taxonomy, and ensuring alignment with business strategy and workforce priorities
- Skills Integration: Embed skills into key HR processes such as Talent Acquisition, Internal Mobility, Career Development, and Performance Management
- Organisational Transformation: Lead the development and implementation of skills-based organisation strategies and drive change related to skills transformation
- Skills Data and Technology: Define business requirements for skills-related technology solutions and act as the business owner for relevant capabilities within HR technology platforms

Who you are
- You hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field
- You have extensive experience in leading workforce transformation initiatives within complex international organisations
- You possess deep expertise in designing and implementing skills frameworks and taxonomies that align with business strategies and enhance talent management
- You excel in stakeholder management, effectively engaging diverse teams to drive the adoption of skills-based practices across HR processes
- With strong analytical skills, you translate strategic workforce needs into practical frameworks, ensuring alignment with emerging labour market trends
- You have experience working in an international skills-based organisation or have worked as a consultant implementing skills-based practices for international organisations
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, fluent in English (Dutch proficiency is a plus)
Who you will work with
In your role, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the organisation to drive the skills-based transformation. You will partner with HR Centres of Expertise and Product Teams to ensure the effective integration of skills into all HR processes, from talent acquisition to career development and succession planning.
Working alongside HR Business Partners, you will align skills frameworks with workforce planning and talent management strategies, ensuring that the organisation’s workforce is equipped to meet current and future demands. Additionally, you will engage with Data & Digital teams to leverage insights and technology solutions that enhance skills governance and management.
Your interactions will also extend to business leaders across NN, where you will facilitate discussions on skills integration and drive commitment to the organisation’s skills-based initiatives. By fostering these partnerships, you will play a crucial role in embedding a culture of skills development and agility throughout the organisation.
