JOB TITLE: Senior Software Engineer

DUTIES: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Duties include: Develop proprietary Optum software and systems that automate and facilitate Optum's day-to-day business needs; ensure these systems meet Optum's demanding standards for privacy and security as required by strict internal policies and industry-specific regulations; create efficient, high-performance enhancements to the proprietary Optum systems, enhancements that directly address and achieve specific Optum customer goals; design, develop and implement new features that build on existing functionality, including but not limited to integrating new technology; ensure compliance with Optum's software development life cycle protocols and ensure project priorities are recorded and satisfied according to those protocols, raising any risk factors to the appropriate Optum project management team; constantly improve functionality to the user base; satisfy Optum data accessibility standards by ensuring all Optum electronic information and technology is fully usable by people with disabilities; design and develop reporting as needed to summarize and analyze Optum system functionality; satisfy technical requirements for performance, resiliency, availability and scalability; collaborate with Optum system users to build, extend and enhance systems that accelerate efficiency and innovation across the organization; provide post deployment support and to quickly respond to and resolve unexpected service problems in production; and facilitate all Optum quality assurance protocols, including user acceptance testing, by quickly resolving issues and providing all required metrics and data, including issue tracking. Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.
REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electronics Engineering or related field and 4 years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Engineering-related occupation. Position requires four (4) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the following:
* Developing custom Aura Components to build dynamic, responsive user interfaces within the Salesforce Lightning Experience;
* Apex development for implementing custom business logic and streamlining complex workflows;
* Creating custom Apex REST endpoints and consuming third-party APIs within Salesforce;
* Implementing data models, custom objects, junction objects, triggers and batch automation;
* GIT-based workflows for managing code versions and facilitating seamless team integration;
* Navigating business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions; and
* Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents and support tickets within SLA timelines using tools like ALM, ServiceNow, or JIRA.
RATE OF PAY: $131,020 - $195,174 / per year
