Lead Shopify Developer

Role Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Shopify Lead Developer to drive the design, development, and optimization of Shopify and Shopify Plus storefront. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in implementing end-to-end eCommerce solutions using both Shopify Liquid and Hydrogen frameworks, along with experience leading development teams, architecture scalable solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end development and delivery of Shopify and Shopify Plus eCommerce websites.
  
• Design, develop, and maintain custom Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify APIs.
  
• Build modern headless commerce solutions using Shopify Hydrogen and related technologies.
  
• Implement complete storefront design. hand-off to production deployment.
  
• Develop custom functionalities, integrations, and applications using Shopify’s ecosystem and APIs.
  
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA teams, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  
• Optimize website performance, Core Web Vitals, SEO, accessibility, and conversion rates.
  
• Architect scalable and maintainable solutions for high-traffic eCommerce platforms.
  
• Integrate third-party services, payment gateways, ERP, CRM, OMS, and marketing automation tools.
  
• Conduct code reviews and establish development best practices, coding standards, and deployment processes.
  
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers within the team.
  
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure platform stability and reliability.
  
• Manage release cycles, deployments, and post-production support.
  
  

• 9+ years of experience in web development with at least 5+ years focused on Shopify development.
  
• Strong expertise in Shopify Liquid, Shopify Theme Architecture, and Shopify Plus.
  
• Hands-on experience with Shopify Hydrogen, headless commerce architecture, and modern frontend frameworks.
  
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, HTML5, and CSS3.
  
• Experience with Shopify Storefront API, Admin API, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
  
• Experience implementing complete Shopify websites from scratch.
  
• Knowledge of Shopify app integrations and custom app development.
  
• Understanding of eCommerce best practices, checkout flows, payment integrations, and customer journeys.
  
• Strong debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Shopify Plus enterprise stores.
  
• Knowledge of Node.js and backend integrations.
  
• Experience with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful, Sanity, or Strapi.
  
• Familiarity with Google Analytics, GTM, SEO, and conversion optimization.
  
• Experience managing offshore or distributed development teams.
