Job Description
The Lead Senior Accountant will be responsible for the full cycle of fixed asset reporting, including recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets, tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets. This strategic role will also involve implementing policies and best practices, maintaining the physical inventory of assets, and performing General Ledger (GL) accounting activities. The Senior Fixed Assets Accountant will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities

- Record, track, and calculate depreciation on all fixed assets.
- Work with Operations on asset inventory reconciliation.
- Reconcile fixed asset registers to the trial balance and prepare PPE rollforwards monthly.
- Collaborate with property tax consultants in preparing, reviewing, and accruing for property taxes.
- Assist in the capital expenditure review and approval process.
- Monitor capital projects, reviewing spend vs. budget details.
- Prepare fixed asset and depreciation reconciliations monthly.
- Review company leases to determine ASC 842 and IFRS 16 treatment.
- Perform third-party physical inventory observations.
- Record and analyze leases for input into visual lease.
- Prepare deadline-driven balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
- Assist with process improvements regarding inventory reconciliations and visual lease implementation.
- Implement policies and best practices related to fixed asset management.
- Maintain the physical inventory of assets.
- Perform GL accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Support strategic decision-making by providing insights and analysis on fixed assets and GL accounting.
- Drive process improvements and track their implementation.
- Apply a critical thinking mindset to identify and resolve issues.
- Innovate and implement changes to current processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Job Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
- Posssess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Have 4 years or more of experience in Fixed Asset accounting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Power Automate, Office Scripts).
- Experience with fixed asset software preferred (SAGE).
- Working knowledge of VBA, Python, and SQL.
- Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to think critically and drive change.
