Site, Business, OR Functional Area OverviewThis role is part of the Global Security organization, supporting GE Aerospace locations across the United States and internationally, with a primary location in Evendale, OH, US.
The Global Security team is responsible for protecting GE Aerospace’s people, assets, operations, and information through effective physical security strategies, standards, and systems. In this role, you will partner closely with Site Security Leaders, Regional Security Directors, site leaders, and executive administrators to lead the Security Management Systems (SMS) team and drive a robust physical security program across multiple sites.
Role OverviewThe Lead Security Specialist is responsible for leading and supervising the Security Management Systems (SMS) team and supporting broader physical security functions across domestic and international sites. This role is accountable for the physical security program for the protection of assets and employees, ensuring that security systems, standards, and practices are effectively implemented and continuously improved.
You will use an in-depth understanding of key business drivers and how Global Security integrates with other functions to guide priorities, inform decisions, and enable safe, compliant, and efficient operations. While primarily an experienced individual contributor, you will provide informal leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to team members and stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:
Lead and support the SMS team
Supervise and provide direction to the Security Management Systems (SMS) team, ensuring effective operation, maintenance, and optimization of physical security systems across GE Aerospace sites.
Own the physical security program for assets and employees
Support and coordinate the physical security program to protect employees, facilities, and assets, aligning with GE Aerospace standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with key stakeholders
Partner with site leaders, executive administrators, Site Security Leaders, and Regional Security Directors to ensure physical security systems and processes support business needs and operational goals.
Maintain systems expertise and standards
Maintain exceptional working knowledge of all relevant security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems. Provide guidance on system standards, configurations, and optimizations to drive efficient, effective security operations.
Develop and maintain best practices and documentation
Create, maintain, and continuously improve “best practice” documents for access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems. Ensure accurate records and reports are generated for leadership to support compliance, audits, and decision-making.
Provide internal customer service and advisory support
Deliver strong customer service to internal Site Security Leaders and other stakeholders, advocating for successful planning and implementation of security improvements and system enhancements.
Apply technical expertise and professional judgment
Use your technical expertise, prior experience, and analytic thinking to solve complex problems, influence functional policy/strategy execution, and support projects, processes, and procedures within the Global Security discipline.
Mentor and guide others
Provide informal guidance and coaching to new team members and peers. Communicate complex information in a clear, straightforward manner to colleagues and business partners.
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following Required Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
OR - High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Physical Security Systems, including Access Control, Video Management Systems, and Intrusion Detection Systems
Technical Certifications
- Current certifications in Lenel OnGuard and Avigilon systems

Project Management: The ability to plan, execute, and oversee security projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
