The Role

Lead Search Engineer

About the Team: 

Our global team supports teaching electronic health records, introducing students to digital charting for today's clinical environment. We maintain a stable product and value trust, respect, collaboration, agility, and quality. 

About the Role: 

This position involves performing complex research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software area or product line. You will provide direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodologies in developing cross-functional software products. This role includes software design tasks, mentoring team members, and translating user/customer requests into solutions. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. 

  • Write and review detailed specifications for complex system components. 

  • Complete complex bug fixes. 

  • Work closely with other development team members to understand and translate complex product requirements into software designs. 

  • Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. 

  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders. 

  • Resolve complex technical issues as necessary. 

  • Mentor junior software engineers, ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles. 

  • Keep up to date with new technological developments. 

  • Design and work with complex data models. 

  • Mentor less-experienced software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: 

  • A minimum of 5 years of Software Engineering experience. 

  • Equivalent experience to a BS in Engineering/Computer Science. 

  • Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). 

  • Strong proficiency with data manipulation languages and optimization techniques. 

  • Strong understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles. 

  • Knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems. 

  • Proficiency in development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, SOLR, SQL, Linux along with Any cloud experience (AWS Preferred)

  • Strong research skills. 

  • Knowledge of industry best practices in development. 

  • Experience using and developing applicable tool sets. 

  • Ability to interface competently with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. 

  • Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources. 

  • Knowledge of test-driven development. 

  • Ability to write and review detailed specifications for complex system components. 

  • Ability to complete complex bug fixes. 

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
