The Role

This role is for a Lead SDET – Software development Engineer in Test who leads the design, development, and delivery of automation test frameworks for our next generation software platform (computer vision, machine learning, sensor fusion, coaching workflows, reporting, alert management engines, high accuracy vehicle event analysis engines.) The successful candidate will provide technical automation leadership as part of the Software QA Team and is accountable for all aspects of the QA process. This position requires solid experience testing N-Tier application services and data platforms within an Agile development environment. Also, understands the database well.

What You’ll Do

· Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for data pipelines (batch & real-time)

· Validate data transformations, enrichment, golden record logic, and data integrity

· Develop backend/API automation for microservices and platform services

· Perform database validation (SQL/NoSQL) and data warehouse testing (Snowflake/Redshift/BigQuery)

· Implement data quality checks, reconciliation, and monitoring validations

· Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines

· Support performance, regression, and release validation cycles

· Collaborate with data engineers, product teams, and DevOps for quality assurance

· Contribute to test strategy, documentation, and quality best practices

· Participate in defect triage and root cause analysis

What You’ll Bring

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

· 6–8 years of experience in Quality Engineering / Data Testing

· Strong experience in backend/API automation testing

· Experience in data warehouse and ETL validation

· Good understanding of batch and real-time data processing systems

· Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP preferred)

· Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Technical Skills

· Programming: Python (preferred), Java, SQL

· Automation Tools: PyTest, Selenium/Cypress (if UI involved), REST Assured, Postman

· Data Validation: SQL (advanced), Snowflake/Redshift/BigQuery

· Big Data Exposure: Spark validation, Kafka stream validation (basic to intermediate)

· CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI

· Version Control: Git

· Monitoring Validation: Grafana/Datadog (functional validation level)
