Your day-to-day focus is on enabling the success of the teams you support.
You are accountable for the operational health, delivery performance, and agile maturity of your teams. You are responsible for ensuring that teams deliver consistently, predictably, and in alignment with enterprise standards and expectations. You will work closely with Product Owners and Engineering Managers, maintaining structured, recurring engagements to ensure alignment, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will contribute to planning, compliance readiness, and agile maturity initiatives.
In this role, you will:

  • Guide the teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices to promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint
  • Optimize scrum team velocity to identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance
  • Oversee systemic impediments to team agility and guide the teams on methods to escalate
  • Deliver capabilities using agile practices while following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met
  • Partner with discipline managers to convey their concerns to scrum teams about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards
  • Collaborate with product owners, program or project managers to communicate delivery of work product from the teams and escalate key risks and issues impeding scrum team effectiveness
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal customers
  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Train other Scrum Masters and serve as a mentor to less experienced staff
  • Ensure that team Jira boards are accurate, up-to-date, and reflect the true state of work. Actively manage flow, monitor work-in-progress limits, and ensure backlog readiness. Correct issues that compromise board accuracy, such as missing or inaccurate story points, unrefined backlog items, or incomplete sprint planning.
  • Monitor and interpret delivery metrics such as velocity, throughput, and cycle time.
  • Take ownership of improvement actions and demonstrate measurable progress.
  • Lead agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives with a focus on outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Coach team members in agile principles and delivery discipline. Help build capability and self-organization.
  • Actively manage risks, resolve impediments, and coordinate dependencies that affect the teams' ability to deliver. Maintain logs and follow up until resolution.

  • Contributes to quarterly planning by providing capacity forecasts, ensuring plans are up to date and ready and identifying risks, dependencies and impediments.
  • Lead team health assessments and agile maturity evaluations, using results to guide coaching interventions.
  • Stay current on enterprise-wide expectations, including those set by PRICE. Apply these standards consistently and work across teams to ensure alignment.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the technology supported by the team to become a more effective Lead Scrum Master. This understanding enables better identification of risks, more meaningful support of delivery activities, and more proactive resolution of impediments. It also positions the Scrum Master to take on work when appropriate and contribute more deeply to the team's success.
  • Maintain action logs and ensure delivery on commitments made to leadership, Product Owners, and Engineering Managers
Required Qualifications:

  • Retrospective Actions: Documented improvement actions with follow-up tracking and impact analysis.
  • Impediment, Risk, and Dependency Logs: Ongoing tracking and resolution of delivery blockers and risks.
  • Planning Inputs: Capacity forecasts, dependency maps, and team-level planning artifacts for quarterly planning.
