In this role, you will:
- Provide formulation expertise and leadership for commercializing and maintaining formulations for North America and global wet wipes.
- Focus on supporting North American wet wipe product development and manufacturing.
- Partner closely and work cross-functionally with KCNA R&E, Global Quality, Procurement, Maumelle and Beech Island.
- Lead moderate to large projects and carry out accountabilities with a collaborative mindset ensuring visibility of progress/results to all key stakeholders.
- Lead the scale-up, commercialization and maintenance of formulations used to produce wet wipe products that meet consumer, quality, regulatory and compliance needs.
- Closely partner with Personal Care and Family Care R&E product development teams to ensure work meets project needs. Build strong relationships with business partners to understand priorities and coordinate support.
- Partner with Global, KCNA and Mill Quality teams supporting wet wipes manufacturing. Maintain visibility of manufacturing performance and helps troubleshoot and address formulation-related issues. Manage specifications and documentation associated with formulations.
- Work closely with Formulation Technical Leaders and Formulation Team Members to progress formulation business continuity activities. Design and carry-out lab, pilot line and mill experiments and trials.
- Use detailed understanding of global mill Solution Mix processes to develop and execute plans for scale-up of formulations from lab to commercial-scale.
- Evaluate data and provides interpretation. Make connections between formulations, product performance and aging/stability data. Make recommendations on product development activities.
- Coach and mentor Lead Formulation Scientists and Business Unit Scientists.

The ability to leverage knowledge in formulation science, solution mix process and quality systems to commercialize wet wipe cosmetic products and maintain existing products. Excellent collaboration skills with business unit R&E, Quality and Operations to successfully execute projects and mitigate risks. Interact with Mill Managers/Directors/VPs at least quarterly to provide clear updates on existing work and drive alignment on plans for future work.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a chemistry related discipline such as Chemistry, Food Science, or Chemical Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in a Research, Quality, or Manufacturing function.
- Experience and technical knowledge in formulation science.
- Experience and technical knowledge of solution mix processes and wet wipe sanitary manufacturing.
- Basic knowledge of cosmetic and/or OTC drug testing requirements.
Preferred:
- Experience in cosmetic product development, scale-up and manufacturing such as wet wipes.
- Demonstrated application of utilizing formulation expertise to drive action in product development and/or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of quality, production and documentation systems and processes (e.g. ETQ, PLM).
- Basic understanding of statistical analyses appropriate for microbiological data.
- Prior leadership experience with moderate to large sized projects.

Salary Range: $85,550 – $105,600 USD
