DUTIES: Wellmark Inc. seeks a Lead Remedy Software Engineer based out of our office at 1331 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50309. This is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address.
Lead BMC Remedy Helix ITSM system development and engineering for highly complex programs; including the analysis, design, and integration; Provide ITIL best practices to support strategic discussion and direction in evolving the Service Catalog, CMDB, Asset, Incident, Problem, Change, Service Level, Knowledge, and Request Management design, workflow, implementation, and overall best practice; Serve as subject matter expert in the implementation of innovative, cost-effective business solutions for multiple platforms, while utilizing information technology, business, and industry trends; Provide leadership, training, and guidance to others on the team in the gathering of information, necessary research needed for root cause analysis, problem definition and formulation, solution implementation, verification and ongoing optimization; Ensure analysis of defects to find root cause and guide other in the identification of potential improvement opportunities; Mentor, guide and problem-solve with other technology areas in the design, development and implementation of solutions, including how to use new or enhanced software/applications; Coordinate with company resources to accomplish integration of products and processes and complex solutions; Provide timely and accurate results, and exceptional customer service; Utilize established relationships with Wellmark leaders and acts as a primary consultant on business status, issues, process improvements and technology enhancements or capabilities; Participate in project proposals, estimates and proof-of-concept activities as needed; Maintain awareness of industry’s best practices and standards and proactively participates in industry/knowledge reference groups relative to role; Provide direction for enterprise standards; Conduct code reviews and monitor standard adherence; and other duties as assigned.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related;
96 months of experience in job offered or related;
Experience must include: 8 years of experience with Remedy Helix ITSM Software Management Suite; 8 years of experience with design and development including HTML, XML, SOAP, LDAP, MSSQL; 8 years of experience with Developer Studio developing workflows using Filters, Escalations, Active links, Menus, Groups and Flashboards and related system components; experience with software development lifecycle methodologies; and experience gathering information, performing necessary research needed for root cause analysis, problem definition and formulation, recommending solution implementation, verification, and ongoing optimization, using data to support recommendations and best practices.
