The Role

We are looking for a Lead QA with over 7 years of experience in driving quality engineering across fast-paced, product-led environments. This is an individual contributor (IC) heavy role (80% IC, 20% mentoring) designed for someone who’s passionate about building, scaling, and automating robust quality frameworks — not managing people, but mentoring them.

What you’ll be doing

Owns testing efforts and feature quality across projects

  • Building and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks for different platforms.
  • Be the technical anchor for automation efforts; hands-on in building and maintaining frameworks with an automation-first mindset.
  • Lead by example — spend the majority of your time hands-on with code, tools, CI/CD pipelines, and testing infra.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and help raise the bar across the quality team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and product managers to ensure testability and reliability are top-of-mind from day one.
  • Bring in performance testing and observability practices to improve user experience at scale.
  • Use AI tools and techniques to enhance testing strategies, drive efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
  • Proactively identify test gaps, drive process improvements, and bring innovation to how we build and release software.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in QA/SDET roles with deep exposure to product-based engineering environments.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks for:
    • UI testing (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress)
    • API testing (e.g., REST Assured, Postman, Karate)
    • Mobile testing (Appium, Detox) – if applicable
  • Strong knowledge of QA tooling and best practices in CI/CD environments (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Cypress, Postman, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Must have a track record of leveraging AI in testing (like self-healing scripts, AI-assisted test generation, intelligent regression selection, etc.) 
  • Significant contributions in performance testing (e.g., JMeter, k6,Locust) will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in driving automation strategy and framework design for fast-moving, lean teams.
  • Comfortable working in distributed teams across geographies and time zones.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills — someone who thinks in systems and builds from first principles.
  • Strong communicator, mentor, and collaborator
