Your Mission:
In this role, you will assist in driving forward the effectiveness of the Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc. IT QA team. The main responsibilities of the Lead, QA Engineer include planning, development and execution of various software testing, establishment of department metrics, mentoring and developing internal QA colleagues, and assisting in the management of external staff augmentation resources This position will interact widely with various functional areas and advocate quality approaches and support defined QA strategic goals. This position may work on projects for LCE or other Ilitch companies.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Develop, execute and maintain both manual and automated test cases, scripts, plans and procedures as business needs require ensuring code quality in a continuous integration environment.
- Lead, mentor and provide supervisory oversight to LCE Quality Assurance colleagues, as well as external resources.
- Identify test conditions for user stories and administer the test plans, scenarios and cases used in testing based on business requirements, technical specifications and/or product knowledge to ensure proper functionality and that the process aligns with the overall corporate life cycle.
- Lead and participate in planning activities, such as user story creation, metric establishment, point estimation and other expected testing tasks while paying attention to testability.
- Participate in the testing of applications and processes. Collaborate with the development team and stakeholders to ensure testable application is estimated and developed.
- Review products, processes and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made and ensure continual quality improvement for the department and overall organization.
- Compile detailed documentation related to software program and system tests ensuring adequate testing has been executed and that all user cases are accounted for.
- Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices with a high level of reliability.
- Communicate plans, report progress and potential pitfalls to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Adequately identify risks and create plans to mitigate those risks.
- Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources.
- Support user testing and data validation.
- Represent quality principles and processes within assigned product teams. Research and recommend continuous process improvement ideas to management.
- Document and disseminate test results, release notes and troubleshooting guides needed for field support.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Quality Assurance or related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in software quality testing including web-based applications, iOS and Android applications.
- Minimum of five (5) years of scripting experience delivering successful products in Agile, Iterative and Waterfall environments.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with automated test plans.
- Demonstrated experience leading both QA initiatives and colleagues including but not limited to, assisting in the coordination of department activities, providing effective leadership to QA colleagues, scheduling resources (internal and external) based on business needs and management of department priorities.
- Strong, written, verbal, and presentation communication that effectively articulates technical concepts to a diverse and, at time, non-technical audience at all levels in the organization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and resolve conflict.
- Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodology.
- Ability to manage conflict and/or shifting priorities between QA colleagues or between different teams.
- Ability to guide and motivate QA colleagues through both high stress situations and slower times while maximizing productivity and efficiency.
- Proven planning and organization skills, detail oriented and able to track/manage multiple aspects of a project at the same time.

- Master’s in Computer Science, Master’s in Information Technology, or related field.
- Knowledge of quick service restaurant environment and/or retail industry.
