Lead QA Automation Engineer (f/m/x)

Securities Services business provides Custody services and Fund Accounting for institutional investors. Corporates and Institutions investing globally must adapt to market infrastructure change and new technological innovations, as well as cope with a changing regulatory landscape. To thrive in this complex world, they need smarter custody solutions, that focus on their specific post-trade goals and data that empowers them to improve their efficiency.

Our current work includes strategic, new projects around common and reference Custody data, in standard formats, providing as much as possible also a single place for custody data management, that should increase consistency, prevent data quality problems, and minimize future changes to other domain consumers, when systems are aligned to bank wide strategic data sources.

The Lead QA Automation Engineer will define and manage testing strategies, plans and deliverables related to testing within specific applications and programmes of work on a global basis. Will manage and drive the adoption of recognized best practice and policy and contribute to the ongoing improvement of methodologies and assets. The Lead QA Automation Engineer will manage and be accountable for the functional and non-functional testing of one or more applications.

As a Lead QA Automation Engineer, you will be specifically responsible for maintaining a high-quality standard which aligns with Deutsche Bank’s strategy for technological excellence, as part of a global team.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead the QA team, foster a quality-focused culture and improve work efficiency
• Develop QA Processes and Procedures using Bank’s standard QA and Testing processes throughout the SDLC for each release
• Ensure cross-project dependencies are identified early and managed accordingly
• Coordinate with Lead Engineers, BA and Business Stakeholders to create and extends test cases

• Build automated Regression Testing capability and frameworks
• Web Application, APIs, Performance and Integration Testing
• Middleware/backend service-based application Testing
• Defect tracking tools and Test reports
• Liaise with the DevOps team and carry on the testing effectively
• Should be good in communication and handle the stake holders effectively
• Collaborate with Lead Eng, BA’s, Developers and Operations to build meaningful test cases
• Identify the automation areas and provide roadmap to proceed further

• Drive a customer focused approach to delivering fit for purpose business functionality

• Research and debug various problems in development or production environments, assisting also development team

Skills

• Strong technical vision and hands on experience in software development and test automation, including BDD and TDD
• Experience in QA automation tools preferably around Java 11+/Spring Boot micro-services and distributed environments
• UI web front end automation tools testing experience – React/Angular web apps preferably.
• Performance testing tools
• Hands on Experience in Selenium/Protractor, Rest Assure or REST API testing tools, Gherkin/Cucumber, CI/CD tools integrations
• 7+ years’ experience in QA & Testing, preferably in Banking related applications and leading role.
• In depth knowledge of QA & Testing industry best practices and tools, including Jira and ALM/QC
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate
• Proven experience of delivering results in matrixed organizations under pressure and tight timescales
• Experience with dev platforms such as BitBucket/GitHub, Artifactory, Confluence, Jira;
• Experience with Docker containerization and clustering (Kubernetes/OpenShift, Docker, Helm);
• Desirable to have experience with data streaming and processing technologies (Kafka, MQ)
• Application layer protocols (TLS/SSL, HTTP(S), DNS, etc) knowledge would be helpful.
• Nice to have: GCP or other cloud environment, AI tools experience.
