What's the role?
We are seeking a talented and driven professional to join our team. You will be instrumental in understanding evolving business processes and will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and delivery of Android applications and customizations. This role requires expertise in modern programming languages for Android and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process and design improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Android Development & Customization
- Develop, maintain, and deliver high-quality Android applications and customizations.
- Leverage modern programming languages and best practices to ensure robust and efficient solutions.
- Performance Analysis & Optimization
- Analyze, monitor, and improve the performance and quality of Android-based embedded automotive solutions.
- Proactively address performance bottlenecks to enhance product efficiency.
- Quality Assurance & Improvement
- Monitor and improve product quality to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and enhance code quality while adhering to best engineering practices.
- System Understanding & Collaboration
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the software system and participate actively in code reviews and development activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and clarify requirements, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Solution Design & Implementation
- Apply SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) knowledge to design and implement software systems and solutions.
- Develop and deliver enhancements and change requests to meet evolving requirements.
- Troubleshooting & Support
- Troubleshoot issues during the testing and production phases, providing effective solutions promptly.
Who are you?
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline required or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience
- 8+ years of experience with substantial experience in embedded solution development projects.
- Extensive experience in the mobile development domain with Android.
- Expertise in modern programming languages, technologies, and concepts, including object oriented design, design patterns, Native Android, Kotlin. Good to have: Flutter (SDK) / Dart , C++.
- Deep knowledge either on Linux OR Android Open-Source Project (AOSP)
- Experience with Scrum/Kanban, Agile workflow methodologies , JIRA and Confluence , Knowledge on SDLC
- Analytical approach and problem-solving skills and ability to lead detailed technical analysis
- Excellent collaborative skills as well as confidence in written and spoken English
- Having the following skills would be an added advantage:
- Knowledge of location-based services such as mapping, navigation, GPS
- Experience in working with embedded and/or automotive hardware test environments.
- Experience developing HTTP REST services
- Knowledge on location or automotive specific industry standards, e.g., Navigation Data Standard (NDS), Transport Protocol Experts Group (TPEG)
