The Information Technology group delivers secure, reliable technology solutions that enable DTCC to be the trusted infrastructure of the global capital markets. - DTCC offers a flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day unique to each team or employee).
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Understands Agile and relevant frameworks (e.g., scrum) to maximize the success of the squad.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of Agile tools, techniques, principles and values and apply this knowledge to the squad.
- Be the servant-leader for the squad to ensure the team lives the agile values and principles and follows the processes and practices the team has agreed to apply.
- Coach PO and squad to maintain a healthy and prioritized backlog with refined user stories.
- Collaborates on user story, epic, theme definition and documentation with product owner and squad members and manage the product backlog in partnership with the product owner in Jira.
- Successfully balance delivery timeframes and continuous iteration so that customer feedback is always incorporated.
- Participate in Scrum of Scrums sessions to ensure the Squad and the others in the Tribe are aligned on priorities, dependencies and timelines.
- Provide role (PO, QA, Dev, etc.) based coaching and proactively facilitate coaching session with the squad.
- Coach the squad to consider how squad/product vision affects other squads we regularly interact with.
- Create a safe environment for all ceremonies to encourage active participation from all squad members.
- Facilitate and mediate conflicts within the squad.
- Ensure Jira always reflects current state of work and coach the squad on the Agile framework and attitude and guide it to higher Agile maturity.
- Facilitates daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings as part of an Agile squad
- Ensure accurate and transparent communications to stakeholders with concise metrics and updates on progress, risks, and impediments.
- Project Management, Project Planning, Release Planning
- Be an Agile Coach to squad team members through effective approach to support them on squad and tribe goals
- Ability to ensure the accurate use of scrum processes
- Manage implementation projects throughout the entire roadmap lifecycle using Agile development methodologies
- Ability to shield the squad from outside distractions & remove squad impediments or roadblocks
- Drives maturity of security attitude by proactively identifying meaningful issues and control gaps in current processes; influencing behavior change within the organization and contributing to the building a stronger security-focused culture
- Act as the point of escalation for risks, issues, and dependencies, ensure action items are clearly defined, assigned to owners, and driven to resolution in a timely manner.
- Engage with leadership, partners, and collaborators frequently on the status of key initiatives with respect to scope, schedule, cost, and resources; presents RAID logs.
- Build meaningful relationships with squad members and resolve most issues leveraging your rapport and trust with squad members.
- Be an enthusiastic change agent and peer.
- Accept change and use it to drive continuous learning and process improvements within the squads.
- Continuously seek and act on feedback received to bring about positive changes. Servant Leadership
- Understand both the squad’s overall capacity and impediments that impact individual members of the squad. Work to create a team culture that values sustainable execution by not over-committing.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the subject area of project management including common principles, methodologies and tools used by practitioners.
- PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent required.
- Expert skills in Atlassian Jira and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 5 years demonstrable experience in Agile Project Management with 2+ years Scrum Master experience (at a lead capacity).
- Knowledge of financial services, clearing corporations/depository function, brokerage operations, and associated regulatory requirements a plus
- Familiarity with risk management, strategic planning, or scenario planning concepts
