----------------------------------------------------------Let’s Talk About the RoleAs Lead Project Manager, you will take ownership of complex, high-value HVDC transformer projects from project handover through to final delivery and customer acceptance.
You will manage multiple projects or transformer packages concurrently, with accountability for their operational and financial performance. Working within a global matrix organisation, you will lead cross-functional teams spanning engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, logistics and other key functions.
You will bring these teams together to deliver projects safely and in accordance with agreed quality, cost and schedule commitments. As a trusted point of contact for customers, you will balance commercial rigour with technical delivery, helping to protect project outcomes while strengthening customer relationships and GE Vernova’s reputation for excellence.
This is a project leadership position without formal direct reports. Your success will depend on your ability to influence, coordinate and lead multidisciplinary project resources across the wider organisation.
----------------------------------------------------------How You Will Make a DifferenceTake ownership of HVDC transformer projects from formal project handover through to delivery and customer acceptance.
Lead multiple projects or equipment packages concurrently, establishing clear plans, priorities, milestones and accountabilities.
Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, logistics and other supporting functions.
Manage project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, costs and margin within the assigned scope.
Develop and maintain project schedules, delivery plans and contingency or recovery actions.
Monitor project scope and contractual commitments, ensuring that changes and their commercial or delivery implications are understood and appropriately managed.
Drive the effective management of risks and opportunities, identifying potential issues early and implementing suitable mitigation actions.
Act as a key point of contact for customers, maintaining clear communication and building strong, lasting relationships.
Facilitate project and gate reviews, ensuring that actions, decisions and accountabilities are clearly documented and followed through.
Provide accurate and timely reporting on project progress, costs, risks and overall performance.
Work with internal teams, customers and suppliers to resolve complex technical, commercial and delivery challenges.
Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement throughout project execution.
Capture lessons learned and use them to strengthen future project delivery.

Strong financial and commercial awareness, including experience managing project budgets, costs, forecasts and financial performance.
Practical knowledge of project risk, opportunity, change and issue management.
Experience coordinating and leading multidisciplinary teams within a matrix organisation.
The ability to manage multiple projects, work packages or competing priorities concurrently.
Strong customer and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to communicate across technical, commercial and senior-leadership audiences.
The ability to analyse complex information, exercise sound judgement and drive issues through to resolution.
Strong written and spoken English; additional language skills would be advantageous.
Confidence using project-management, reporting and documentation systems.
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline would be advantageous. However, we are most interested in your overall project-delivery experience, professional achievements and practical expertise.
Experience delivering transformers, HVDC systems, power-transmission infrastructure or other high-value engineered equipment would be particularly valuable. We would also welcome relevant experience gained within other technically complex sectors.
A recognised project-management qualification, such as APM, PMP, PRINCE2 or an equivalent certification, would also be advantageous.
----------------------------------------------------------Where and How You’ll WorkThis is a permanent position based at our Stafford facility.
We operate a hybrid working model, with an expectation that you will normally work from the Stafford site three days per week and from home for the remaining two days.
The position follows standard business hours and is not a shift-based role. Occasional travel may be required, although this is expected to be limited.
