As an APU/Propulsion Controls Software Lead Project Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a key role in leading and managing the software portion for APU and Propulsion Controls projects within the Aerospace business unit. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire project software lifecycle, from initiation to completion, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace technologies and make a significant impact in the industry. You will report directly to our Eng Manager, and you’ll work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the future of aerospace by:

  • Leading cross-functional teams to develop and execute project plans.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define project objectives and deliverables.
  • Managing project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Monitoring project progress and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage complex software projects from initiation to completion
  • Being the Control Account Manager (CAM) for the Software APU and Propulsion Controls teams.
  • Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria
  • Develop and execute project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Coordinate and track software development, integration, verification, and delivery activities with Software Technical Lead
  • Monitor project progress and identify and resolve any issues or risks
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior management
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management or engineering role
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • Software lifecycle knowledge
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards (i.e.: DO-178B/C)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
