GOH is a small management consulting firm supporting the federal government since 1997 (www.gohnow.com). We are seeking an energetic new team member experienced in Federal Grants Management to support our Office of Head Start client.

GOH is recruiting in anticipation of potential future openings that are subject to final approval and funding. No guarantee of position availability can be made at this time; however, candidate identification and preliminary interviews are being conducted to support timely hiring should authorization be granted.

The successful candidate will have a clear track record of experience independently managing the daily operations of multiple concurrent grants management projects for federal clients and supervising teams. You must possess in-depth knowledge of the Head Start Program Performance Standards. The successful candidate will be able to actively support a team of Head Start Program Specialists in the West Region with program concerns such as enrollment, grant applications, budget revisions, facilities, and child incidents – including the development of SOPs and trainings to support high-quality customer service. You must be an excellent strategic communicator with experience serving as a project team lead and client-facing point-of-contact on federal contracts. You also must be able to contribute to our positive and proactive culture while working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and high-tempo team environment. Ability to travel to AK, ID, OR, WA, HI, CO, MT, UT, WY, KS, CA, NV, and NE required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check-in with team members to ensure that work products and deliverables are on schedule
  • Support team members through mentorship and training initiatives?
  • Lead process documentation and quality control efforts; providing feedback to team members on various deliverables
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and activities simultaneously
  • Assign and oversee task completion by grants resources and serve as part of the team delivering and executing work
  • Assure quality and timeliness of deliverables
  • Serve as a POC for federal clients, ensuring consistent and open communication that builds trust
  • Support the development of SOPs and QCs procedures; update to reflect efficiencies, best practices, and lessons learned
  • Contribute to client progress and status reports in coordination with the project manager
  • Attend client meetings as needed to provide an overview of tasks, team progress, and other strategies for supporting contract work; Support documentation of meeting actions and decisions
  • Work with the project manager to draft new project timelines and project kick-off agendas, as well as maintain and update timelines and work plans
  • Consistently communicate with a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy and tact
  • Provide management and technical direction in the execution of a variety of grants management tasks such as but not limited to the following:
  • Prepare and track grants through review and funding process
  • Support reviews and analysis of grant funding applications as well as change in scope, supplemental and facilities applications according to Office of Head Start timelines
  • Engage Head Start Program Directors in monthly meetings to offer regulatory guidance and support in programmatic and fiscal concerns
  • Provide technical assistance to Head Start programs when requested or required to support grantee programmatic and fiscal performance
  • Liaise and correspond with federal and contractor grant and program staff to support timely review and award of grants as well as post-award and closeout functions
  • Assist with monitoring activities – to include site visits, desk reviews, and ongoing technical assistance
  • Provide regulatory and policy guidance to Head Start and Early Head Start grantees
  • Prepare written reports in varying formats applicable to different stakeholders and audiences

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required for consideration, Master’s degree preferred
  • At least 5 years of related grants/casework experience with additional consideration for experience in early childhood education, like Head Start
  • At least 5 years of solid grants management experience required for consideration
  • At least 2 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards required
  • Knowledge of the Head Start Enterprise System, Aligned Monitoring System and Grant Solutions a major distinguishing feature
  • PMP is a distinguishing feature
  • Must have good data analytics skills and the ability to present data in ways that are understandable and relevant to different stakeholders and audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders
  • Proficient in reviewing, aggregating, and presenting data gathered from multiple sources
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate in writing and presenting
  • Experience developing new project process documentation and templates as well as creating quality control procedures and checklists and trainings for deliverables and daily tasks
  • Exceptional communicator with ability to adjust communication style to individual personalities and needs of our customers
  • Must be adept in prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced customer-centric environment
  • Ability to work onsite at the West Regional Office
  • Ability to pass background investigations as required for access to federal facilities and systems; position requires Public Trust clearance

Work Environment: The work environment is a typical office setting.

Physical demands: The physical demands of the job include sitting for extended periods, and occasional walking and standing.

Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, 40-60 hours per week. Some job activities may be required outside of typical workdays/hours. Overtime may be expected during peak periods.

Travel: 10-20% local and regional travel, with overnight stays necessary
