JOB SUMMARY: Production Leads are responsible for several bakery manufacturing activities. Candidates must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must be able to communicate and work effectively in a team environment. Must be able to help direct the workforce and perform all operator & utility jobs. Must be able to give and follow instructions (written & verbal), safely and accurately operate bakery equipment and maintain GMP standards. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Set up line and follow product from start to finish
  • Ensure operators are present and communicate with supervisor.
  • Respond to trouble calls.
  • Ensure line is running efficiently and maintain GMP standards
  • Monitor employee's performance to make sure each employee is doing their job.
  • Assist in new employee training.
  • Assist in the completion of line paperwork.
  • Monitor start up and change over.

  

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires high school diploma, or equivalent.                                  
Prefer previous safety training.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Manufacturing Environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stand (20%), walk (70%) and bend (10%) for 9 hours.  Ability to lift approximately up to a maximum of 100 pounds (sack of flour), approximately 144 times per day from ankle to chest.  Ability to reach from 2 ½ feet approximately 540 times per day and up to 6 feet, approximately 72 times per day.  May climb stairs and ladder.  Performs repetitive motions, using the hands/arms approximately 800 times per day and the back (twisting), approximately 720 times per day.  Ability to push/pull upper body 72 times per day and whole body 10 times per day.  Shortening weigh approximately 50 lbs., dry ingredients weighs 100 lbs. and barreled ingredients weigh 400 lbs. (use hoist).  Must be in good physical condition.            

OTHER ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS NOT LISTED ABOVE INCLUDE:

Organizational skills, read and follow formulations, calculating dough line, ability to record batters and exceptions, compute exceptions accurately, ability to identify ingredients, hearing, seeing, understanding written and verbal instructions, depth perception, peripheral vision, perform all tasks, ask questions, perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, use and understand digital scales.

MACHINES/TOOLS USED:     

Scrapers, box knife, bowl knife, scoops, bucket, thermometer, measuring cup, hair net, hearing protection, safety glasses and bump caps.
