Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Lead Product Manager who has a unique blend of business, marketing, and technical savvy. Successful candidates have experience with competitive strategy and defining product and solution roadmaps with excellent writing, and presentation skills and enjoy technical writing. As a Lead Product Manager a typical day might include the following:
Lead and teach others with R&D, Marketing, Sales, and customers to ensure that SEL makes the right product at the right time.
Maintain a deep understanding of the end user, how they use the product, and identify and evaluate product line opportunities.
Work closely with Marketing and Sales to develop sales forecasts, marketing plans, draft sales and marketing collateral, support customers and provide training.
Think strategically when creating and managing key elements of the products throughout the lifecycle including the roadmap, data sheet, technical presentations, pricing, demos, customer requests, and competitive analysis.
Participate in industry technical meetings, standard committees, and contribute with technical papers.
This job might be for you if:
You have a B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum 6+ years of experience in electric power systems, telecommunications, automation systems or other relevant discipline
Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills
Knowledge of product life cycle planning
Willing to travel 25%

Salary Range Data
We anticipate filling this position as a Lead Product Manager $115,290 -$170,349 per year. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
