Carta develops purpose-built software that transforms traditional accounting into a powerful growth engine.
The Role
The Company You’ll Join

Carta connects founders, investors, and limited partners through world-class software, purpose-built for everyone in venture capital, private equity and private credit.

Carta’s fund administration platform supports nearly 7,000 funds and SPVs, representing  $150B in assets under administration in venture capital and private equity. Trusted by more than 40,000 companies, Carta also helps private businesses in over 160 countries manage their cap tables, valuations, taxes, equity programs, compensation, and more.

Together, Carta is creating the end-to-end ERP platform for private markets. Traditional ERP solutions don’t work for Private Funds. Private capital markets need a comprehensive software solution to replace outdated spreadsheets and fragmented service providers. Carta’s software for the Office of the Fund CFO does just that - it’s a new category of software to make private markets look more like public markets - a connected ERP for private capital.

The Problems You'll Solve

At Carta, our employees set out on a mission to unlock the power of equity ownership for more people in more places. We believe that the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow.

As a Lead Product Manager, Company Management, you’ll solve problems in these areas:

  • Networked problems: Carta is a multiplayer platform where multiple sides of the market, like companies, investors and law firms, participate. We are also a B2B2C platform where we help companies manage their large volume of employees. How do we acquire network nodes and strengthen the edges between nodes?
  • Drive engagement: companies have defined behavior loops offline. How do we model and add value to them on Carta?
  • Build a data business: more companies joining Carta lead to more data. How do we enrich and extract insights from the data, and add value to customers in a way that encourages more companies to join Carta?
  • Automate busywork: stakeholder management is high friction with high support costs, especially for young companies and new founders. How do we automate, or better yet, eliminate, manual and disjointed workflows?
The Team You'll Work With

The Carta Company Management pillar mission is to empower companies to capitalize on their equity and make smarter financial decisions. Our North Star is engagement: tens of thousands of companies use the Carta platform to manage equity every month. You’ll join this pillar to own the Carta stakeholder management experience and underlying data platform with fellow 10+ Engineers, Designer and Product Strategist. Most stakeholders are employees. Managing them is a key JTBD our customers do on Carta. Better software in this product area leads to a better overall platform experience, and more engaged companies.

Specifically, your scope includes:

  • Employee and stakeholder management, such as source-of-truth ledgers, hiring, retention and departure workflows, and modeling tools
  • Stakeholder transactions, such as issuance, exercising and transfers
  • Carta Total Compensation, our compensation benchmarking product
  • Data platform that integrates Carta with HRIS and accounting/ERP ecosystems
  • Employee equity portfolio management, such as employee onboarding and security acceptance
About You
  • You are a systems thinker who can break down complex processes and systems into simple frameworks.
  • You built multiplayer, networked products at a scale. You grew  engagement and strengthened connections between different user groups.
  • You translate complex, large-scale data sets into meaningful insights and compelling product features that drive business decisions.
  • You are resilient. You navigate ambiguity creatively in a constantly evolving environment. You influence across functions without authority, and are capable of pivoting strategic direction as needed.
  • You have a natural curiosity about capital markets and enjoy learning about new and complex topics. Experience building FinTech products is a plus.
  • You have 7+ years product management or related industry experience, such as design and engineering.
