This role partners closely with Design, Product Management, Materials, Development, Manufacturing, and Product Creation Center teams to bring innovative Converse footwear to life. The Lead Product Engineer serves as a critical technical partner throughout the product creation process, collaborating with factory partners and cross-functional teams to ensure products meet fit, performance, quality, sustainability, and profitability objectives.
 
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced footwear product engineering professional who thrives at the intersection of design, innovation, and manufacturing. You bring deep technical expertise in footwear construction and development, with a strong understanding of how great product is created from concept through production.
You are a collaborative problem solver who can translate design intent into commercially viable product solutions while balancing performance, quality, manufacturability, sustainability, and cost. You are comfortable working across cultures and functions, influencing decisions, and navigating complex product challenges to deliver exceptional consumer experiences.
As a Lead Product Engineer, you will own the technical execution of assigned styles, driving fit, construction, and product integrity throughout the development process. You will leverage consumer insights, market trends, and emerging technologies to continuously improve product outcomes and elevate the Converse brand.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Engineering, Textile Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in footwear technical design, product engineering, or product creation.
  • Deep knowledge of footwear construction, pattern engineering, grading, materials, manufacturing processes, costing, and quality standards
  • Experience partnering with factory manufacturers to improve product quality and manufacturability
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, CAD pattern engineering tools, and/or 3D product creation platforms
     
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will lead the technical design and development of assigned Converse footwear styles from concept through commercialization and production. Working closely with Design, Product Management, and Product Creation teams, you will ensure every product delivers against consumer needs, brand expectations, and business goals.
  • You will coordinate fit, construction, and technical development for assigned footwear styles from concept through production.
  • You will create, maintain, and revise technical documentation, including Tech Packs, product specifications, prototype notes, and construction standards.
  • You will drive fit and construction consistency across a product group while ensuring product integrity and quality standards are met.
  • You will identify and resolve development, manufacturing, and commercialization challenges, partnering closely with factory teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • You will manage and track prototypes, providing clear communication on key risks, opportunities, and progress throughout the development process.
  • You will collaborate with Design, Product Management, Materials, and Manufacturing partners to deliver innovative, consumer-led product solutions.
  • You will stay connected to market trends, emerging technologies, and consumer insights to continuously improve product performance, sustainability, and manufacturability.
    This role will be posted until the 28th of July.
The annual base salary for this position generally ranges from €59.100,00 to €91.600,000. Actual compensation will vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
