The Role
As a Lead Product Designer at ThoughtSpot, you will drive design for one of our most innovative core product areas: Spotter — the AI-powered search and analytics experience that enables business users to ask questions, explore data, and uncover insights with ease. Spotter is at the center of how users engage with ThoughtSpot, combining natural language querying, AI-driven recommendations, and self-service analytics to make data truly accessible for everyone.
You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, and AI/UX researchers to craft experiences that simplify complex analytical tasks, surface insights quickly, and build trust in AI-generated answers. Your work will directly shape how business users search, explore, and act on data — defining the future of self-service BI.
At ThoughtSpot, design is a strategic function. With a strong design-led culture and a product strategy that emphasizes clarity, usability, and trust, you’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on how people experience data and AI. This is a rare chance to shape the frontline analytics experience and help democratize insights at scale.
What You’ll Do:
Lead and deliver high-impact design work across user-facing workflows like natural language search, query refinement, results exploration, and AI-driven insight delivery.
Simplify complex analytical concepts into intuitive, human-centered search and visualization experiences for business users with varying levels of data literacy.
Collaborate closely with PMs, engineers, and data scientists to shape product requirements, align on priorities, and ensure design quality from concept through implementation.
Use appropriate levels of fidelity — from conceptual sketches to high-fidelity prototypes — to communicate ideas clearly and drive alignment across stakeholders.
Create detailed design specifications and documentation for interactions, results presentation, and state handling.
Contribute to and expand our internal design system to support consistency and scale across Spotter and the broader ThoughtSpot ecosystem.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying UX gaps and proposing scalable design solutions that balance usability, explainability, and trust in AI.
What You Bring:
5-8 yrs of experience in designing enterprise software products is a must.
Deep experience designing end-user facing enterprise or analytics products, ideally in domains such as search, AI/ML-powered applications, BI tools, or data visualization.
A strong point of view on interaction design, information hierarchy, and trust-building patterns in AI and search-driven products.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with engineers and data scientists on technically rigorous, user-facing products.
A portfolio demonstrating elegant, functional design work across complex search, exploration, or analytics workflows.
Excellent communication skills — able to articulate trade-offs, defend design decisions, and present complex ideas clearly to both technical and business audiences.
Proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping tools.
Growth mindset and desire to work in a fast-paced, ambitious team environment where craft and quality matter deeply.
