WeVideo is a global video-creation and interactive-learning platform used by millions of educators, creators, and businesses. We’re rebuilding our flagship Creation Suite, merging professional video editing with PlayPosit-style interactivity. As our first Timisoara-based design leader, you’ll shape this experience end-to-end and lay the foundation for a small local design team.
The RoleYou’ll start as a hands-on individual contributor owning complex UX in a multi-track editor, then help us grow and mentor a small team. You’ll work closely with PMs and engineers, translating goals and research into production-ready designs, evolving our Figma system, and ensuring high-quality delivery in an Agile setup.
What You’ll Do- Own product UX for the Creation Suite: map multi-step editing flows; rapidly prototype timeline and panel interactions (keyboard, drag, touch); deliver dev-ready Figma specs with interaction notes and edge-cases.
- Drive design–engineering collaboration: join daily stand-ups with Romania squads; be available to iterate quickly during development; run design reviews; partner with QA to verify Definition of Done and conduct UX reviews.
- Evolve & govern the Figma design system: audit and refactor components; add missing patterns (multi-track timeline, media browser, context panes); maintain structure, tokens, variants, and release notes.
- Champion accessibility & usability: embed WCAG 2.1 AA checkpoints (contrast, focus order, keyboard shortcuts) in every spec; help QA stand up an accessibility regression suite.
- Embed in our product process: ensure stories meet Definition of Ready (DoR); collaborate with PMs to bring research insights into designs; monitor post-release impact and iterate.
- 6+ years in product/UX design for complex SaaS or creation tools, including 2+ years driving design direction or mentoring.
- Portfolio showing workflow thinking (not just screens), iteration under constraints, and shipped outcomes.
- Deep Figma mastery (auto-layout, component variants/properties, design tokens, interactive prototypes).
- Strong cross-functional collaboration with engineers and PMs; comfort in Agile environments.
- Fluent English (spoken/written) for daily collaboration and occasional customer interviews.
- Bonus: experience with video/animation tools, Lottie/After Effects hand-off, or product analytics (e.g., Mixpanel).
- Agile triad: PM + Design + Engineering
- Async-first: specs, video walkthroughs, and Figma comments reduce time-zone friction; overlap hours are for decisions.
