About this Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Product Designer to help shape the future of Home Lending for the customers and employees who experience it every day.
This role goes beyond designing individual screens or workflows. You will bring clarity to complex journeys, connect moments across the mortgage lifecycle, and create a cohesive story of where the experience is headed. Through thoughtful design and compelling visual and written storytelling, you will help teams envision the future, align around it, and turn that vision into experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and meaningful.
We are looking for a strategic, hands-on designer who can see the whole journey, translate complexity into possibility, and inspire others to build toward a shared vision.
In This Role, You Will
  • Lead the end-to-end design of complex customer and employee experiences across Home Lending, translating customer needs, business goals, operational requirements, and technical constraints into intuitive solutions.
  • Apply service design and systems thinking to improve experiences across products, channels, processes, and teams, including loan origination and servicing workflows.
  • Create user flows, information architecture, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, prototypes, reusable patterns, and other artifacts that move concepts from discovery through delivery.
  • Use research, usability testing, concept validation, design systems, and AI-enabled tools to accelerate learning, strengthen decisions, and improve experience quality.
  • Create compelling visual and written narratives that connect customer and employee needs, business strategy, and future-state concepts into a clear end-to-end story.
  • Facilitate workshops, journey mapping sessions, and stakeholder reviews; communicate design rationale and tradeoffs to align leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Partner closely with Product, Technology, Content Strategy, and business teams throughout the product lifecycle while ensuring solutions meet accessibility, brand, compliance, and governance standards.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Online and Digital Product Design, Information Sciences, Graphic and Visual Arts experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced proficiency with Figma, FigJam, prototyping tools, enterprise design systems, component-based frameworks, and AI-assisted design tools such as Figma Make or Copilot.
  • Experience designing complex digital products, enterprise platforms, operational workflows, or customer-facing experiences, including translating complex business processes into intuitive, scalable solutions.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX/UI expertise across discovery, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, prototyping, validation, and delivery.
  • Exceptional facilitation, communication, stakeholder management, and influence skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and align partners in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to tell complete, memorable stories through visual and written forms, supported by professional or personal work such as digital products, video games, novels, financial services, theme parks, entertainment, or other experience-driven environments.
  • Experience partnering with Product, Technology, Content Strategy, and business stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience conducting or supporting usability testing, research synthesis, and concept validation while applying accessibility, brand, and enterprise governance standards.
  • Experience with Home Lending, mortgage servicing, loan origination, financial services, regulated industries, or AI-powered, conversational, agentic, and intelligent workflow experiences.
What Will Make You Successful
  • Strategic and hands-on: You connect long-term vision to practical execution and turn complex, ambiguous problems into clear, actionable design direction.
  • Compelling storyteller: You create cohesive visual and written narratives that bring end-to-end customer and employee journeys to life.
  • Customer-centered and outcomes-focused: You balance customer insights and data with usability, accessibility, compliance, innovation, and business objectives.
