We're seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer to drive the improvement of our air separation processes. Your expertise in air separation, hydrogen production, and water treatment will be key in guiding risk assessments, refining procedures, and developing our team. Job Description:

As our Lead Process Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Leading Process Control Optimization & Technical Support:

  • Collaborate with site teams to define optimal unit operating modes and support performance tests.

  • Anticipate production needs, analyze process data, and identify key variables to recommend and implement changes that enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency.

  • Identify and propose process control optimizations using appropriate tools, then oversee their implementation.

  • Advise site managers on equipment selection (valves, sensors, analyzers, etc.) based on advanced process control knowledge.

  • Develop specifications for operating procedures and assist in revising existing ones.

  • Share best practices from other Air Liquide sites to encourage adherence to group procedures.

  • Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and develop preventative measures.

  • Work to minimize the human error factor in processes.

  • Respond promptly to process incidents and propose plans to reduce negative impacts.

  • Participate in change risk assessments (MOC) and non-standard work approvals by providing thorough process risk analysis.

  • Collaborate with production and engineering on special projects to increase equipment reliability or efficiency.

  • Perform CnHm Auditor duties through periodic site inspections.

Providing Water Treatment Expertise:

  • Improve industrial water treatment reliability and efficiency (cooling systems, boilers, reverse osmosis) using Air Liquide programs, studies, and troubleshooting for corrosion and microorganism control.

  • Optimize supplier service quality and cost with the purchasing department, per Air Liquide policies.

  • Investigate water treatment issues, identify causes, and develop solutions to reduce disruptions.

Conducting Training & Development:

  • Deliver training on air distillation, CnHm risk management, O2 risk management, cold embrittlement protection, and hydrogen production.

  • Keep relevant training modules current and conduct sessions as requested by the Training Manager.

Representing the Company:

  • Represent the Company’s division at corporate working groups (e.g., “COP”) and external seminars on process optimization and water treatment.

We are looking for a leader who has:

  • A higher professional (technical) education.

  • Awareness of mandatory operational requirements for production sites, including safety and state/regional regulations.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Ability to conduct incident investigations (e.g., event tree analysis).

  • Knowledge of risks associated with: Hydrogen, explosive gases, Oxygen, Cold embrittlement, Hydrocarbons in air separation units.

  • Familiarity with Health and safety regulations for employees and Fire Safety regulations.

  • At least 3 years of specialist experience in this field.

  • Intermediate English skills (for communication with technical experts, meeting participation, and technical documentation).
