Lead Power Engineer (Multiple Openings)
Responsibilities:
The Lead Power Engineer will develop and maintain strong working knowledge and technical expertise in SEL’s electrical power system equipment types and related protection, monitoring, and control issues. The incumbent will apply the principles of electrical engineering and: (1) lead in the undertaking of technical and market analysis in connection with the evaluation of proposed products or enhancements; (2) lead in the gathering and maintenance of data on competing products in assigned product areas; (3) draft and maintain application literature, instruction manuals, and data sheets as appropriate; (4) develop and analyze product specifications and functional tests; (5) undertake improvements of SEL research and development initiatives; and (6) mentor, direct, control, and exercise discretion over the activities of two Power Engineers under his or her direction, including holding the authority to recommend hiring, firing, and other personnel actions.
