The Lead PLC Software Engineer will create and support innovative software for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. This role involves gathering requirements, designing, developing, testing, and documenting software. Working closely with the team and product owners, the software engineer will help shape the software platform, ensuring biopharmaceutical drugs are developed and produced more reliably and quickly.
What you will accomplish together with us:

Gather, analyze and understand the requirements for software functionality with input from product owners, customer feedback.

Engineer and develop sustainable software systems in Siemens based automation platform through the use of prototyping, clear software design, and participating in design reviews.

Closely collaborate with existing developers.

Write clear, easy to maintain, high quality code that is optimized for performance and memory usage.

Write functional specifications, design specification for all aspects of plc code development.
-
Validate correct software and hardware system operation.
-
Provide assistance to technical support team and product Development whenever needed.
-
Adhere to good automation, manufacturing and documentation practice.

Developing and maintaining tools to enhance build environments and automated Azure DevOps pipelines.
What will convince us:

Bachelor’s degree in science, technology or a related field.

4-10 years of experience as an automation development engineer using Siemens platform.

Should have worked with S7 1200/1500 series PLCs and programming in Structured Control Language(SCL) using TIA Portal.

Should have experience working with source code management tools, preferably Git.
-
Practical experience with C#, PowerShell, and the ability to read, understand, and create pipeline YAML is preferred and will be considered an added advantage.

Subject matter knowledge on ISA-88 physical model and procedural model.

Understanding of computer systems validation practices (GAMP).

Good written and oral communication skills.

Must have a strong personal initiative and be result oriented.

Practical experience with application lifecycle management tools(eg: Polarion) will be considered an added advantage.
