- Strategic Business Partnership
- Act as the primary People Partner to the CTO, CPO and CIO leadership, as well as senior Technology, Product and IT leaders.
- Develop a deep understanding of business priorities, product strategy, technology capabilities and organizational dependencies.
- Translate business plans into workforce, organization and talent priorities.
- Proactively identify organizational opportunities and risks rather than waiting for stakeholder requests.
- Bring data, external perspective and organizational judgment into leadership decision-making.
- Challenge leaders constructively on organization, talent, workforce and leadership decisions.
- Organization Design & Effectiveness
- Lead organization design work across Technology, Product and IT as the business evolves.
- Partner with leaders on organizational structures, spans and layers, role clarity, leadership accountabilities and team effectiveness.
- Understand the relationship between business verticals and shared capabilities, ensuring the organization evolves without creating unnecessary duplication or silos.
- Support the evolution of Product and Engineering structures as existing verticals scale and new businesses are incubated.
- Identify organizational bottlenecks, capability gaps and structural opportunities before they become business constraints.
- Lead major organizational changes and ensure effective implementation.
- Strategic Workforce Planning
- Own the consolidated workforce view across Technology, Product and IT.
- Translate business and product priorities into capability and workforce requirements.
- Lead headcount planning and prioritization with senior stakeholders.
- Challenge incremental hiring requests by assessing existing capacity, organizational design and opportunities for reallocation.
- Establish clear business triggers for future hiring.
- Partner with leaders to determine where new hires should be allocated across teams and business domains.
- Maintain visibility of approved, actual and open headcount across the organization.
- Partner with Finance, Talent Acquisition and Rewards on workforce cost, hiring priorities and workforce scenarios.
- Build forward-looking workforce plans that anticipate the capabilities required as the organization scales.
- The expectation is not simply to answer “Can we hire?”, but to help the business answer: “What capability do we need, when do we need it, where should it sit, and is hiring the right solution?”
- Leadership & Talent
- Own the senior talent agenda across Technology, Product and IT.
- Partner with executives on leadership effectiveness, succession planning and critical-role coverage.
- Identify critical talent, high-potential employees and retention risks.
- Lead talent reviews and ensure actions translate into meaningful development, succession and workforce decisions.
- Coach senior leaders through complex organizational and people decisions.
- Partner with leaders to strengthen management capability across Engineering, Product, Design, Data, IT and related functions.
- Support senior hiring and leadership appointments in partnership with Talent Acquisition.
- Performance & Organizational Health
- Use performance, engagement, attrition, employee relations and workforce data to identify organizational patterns and risks.
- Drive effective performance management and calibration across the organization.
- Partner with leaders on underperformance, organizational capability gaps and team effectiveness.
- Ensure talent and performance decisions are connected to business outcomes rather than treated as standalone HR processes.
- Maintain visibility of organizational health across different domains, teams and leadership populations.
- Compensation & Talent Market
- Partner with Rewards on compensation positioning for Technology, Product and IT talent.
- Understand relevant technology talent markets and advise leaders on competitiveness, internal equity and retention risks.
- Support compensation decisions for critical and senior talent.
- Contribute to location and talent-market strategy, particularly where capabilities can be built across multiple geographies.
- Leading the People Partnering Model
- You will lead a small People Partnering team supporting the Technology, Product and IT organization.
- The model combines:
- Business Products & Verticals — partnering across Product and Engineering teams aligned to established and emerging business domains.
- Core, Platforms & Enabling Technology — partnering across core engineering, platforms, data, design, BI, cyber security, digital innovation and IT capabilities.
- As Lead People Partner, you will:
- Set the strategic agenda and priorities for the partnering team.
- Directly partner with executives and the senior leadership layer.
- Ensure People Partners develop deep understanding of their respective organizations.
- Coach and develop People Partners toward increasingly strategic business partnership.
- Ensure consistent standards and ways of working across portfolios.
- Connect issues and opportunities across organizational boundaries.
- Maintain one consolidated view of the overall Technology, Product and IT organization.
- Significant experience as a Senior HR Business Partner, People Partner or equivalent, ideally within a technology, digital, product-led or high-growth organization.
- Demonstrated experience partnering directly with C-level executives and senior leadership teams.
- Strong understanding of Technology and Product organizations, including Engineering, Product Management and shared technology capabilities.
- Proven experience in organization design, strategic workforce planning and talent management.
- Ability to translate business strategy into organizational and workforce implications.
- Strong analytical capability and comfort using workforce data to challenge assumptions and influence decisions.
- Experience navigating complex, matrixed or rapidly evolving organizations.
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to balance business priorities, employee considerations and organizational sustainability.
- Experience coaching senior leaders through organizational and talent decisions.
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining close enough to the organization to understand what is actually happening.
- Experience leading or developing People Partners/HRBPs is strongly preferred.
- Experience working across multiple geographies or distributed technology teams is an advantage.
