The Patient Advocacy Lead, reports to and works in partnership with the Senior Director, Patient Advocacy to serve patients and patient advocacy groups in India. The Patient Advocacy Lead develops and executes the overarching Pfizer India Patient Advocacy strategy to support key Pfizer reputation and business priorities. The Patient Advocacy Lead serves as Subject Matter Expert and thought partner to commercial, medical, and cross-functional leaders / colleagues in managing patient advocacy and patient engagement opportunities.

  • In consultation with Senior Leaders, and aligned with Pfizer's Purpose Blueprint, develop a 1-3-year Pfizer India companywide patient advocacy engagement vision and strategy to meet short term and longer-term reputational and commercial deliverables.
  • Establish an internal governance structure to ensure cross functional team coordination to enable: -
    • Delivery of the patient advocacy engagement vision and strategy.
    • Development, implementation, and oversight of India's country patient advocacy tactical engagement plans across all cross functional teams.
    • Serve as the local Point of Contact on the Implementation of new Corporate Policy - CP 208 - Interactions with Patients and Patient Advocacy Groups.
    • Increased reach of Pfizer's information and education resources for patients and patient organisations to commercial priorities.
    • Gathering of insights from external stakeholders to enhance Pfizer's understanding of patient (s) unmet needs.
    • Delivery of capacity building, training, education, and health literacy programs to various patient communities as required.
  • Lead the conversation with internal and external stakeholders to help Pfizer achieve our goal of being known as the most patient-centric company amongst the Indian pharmaceutical industry.
  • As the local Patient Advocacy Subject Matter Expert (SME), provide direction for cross functional teams/colleagues seeking to engage patient and patient advocacy organizations.
  • In partnership with Public Affairs Team, assist in developing policy focused advocacy engagement and strategies through development of collaborative platforms on policy issues specific to areas of mutual interest among Pfizer, patients, and patient advocacy groups.
  • Partner with all key global cross functional teams, including but not limited to, Global Corporate Affairs, Global Commercial, Digital, Worldwide Research, Development & Medical (WRDM), Health & Value - to coordinate, develop and implement best practices, tools and systems for interpreting and leveraging patient insights across drug discovery, development, and delivery.
  • Maintain focus on the patient advocacy priority policy and reputational issues that present major opportunities or threats to the Enterprise over the short, medium, and long term, and ensure clear action plans are in place.
  • Provide strategic guidance to various CFT members on the concept, design, execution and monitoring plan of specific patient or patient-group facing initiatives.
  • Responsible to formulate and execute methodologies to measure the impact of Pfizer's overall patient-facing activities.
  • Provide inputs on clinical trials by ensuring patient perspectives are included in the trial design and decision-making process, thereby enhancing relevance and patient-centricity.
  • Manage support of special events with patient advocacy community to maximize Pfizer's presence as appropriate.
