Seeking experienced electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and facility operating technicians for data center facility operations engineer roles. The Engineer Lead role provides the opportunity to expand your skills and experience while supporting mission-critical infrastructure operations within a high-availability data center environment. This position combines hands-on technical work with day-to-day leadership responsibilities, supporting facility operations, preventative maintenance, and repair activities for critical building systems.The Engineer Lead works closely with engineering staff, vendors, and site leadership to ensure the safe and reliable operation of power, cooling, and mechanical infrastructure that supports data center operations. This role operates in a 24x365 mission-critical environment and helps ensure that all facility systems are maintained in accordance with company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices. There is a strong emphasis on acquiring operational qualification within six months of training commencement. Advanced level qualification is expected within 3 years. Individuals will be required to work rotating shifts and scheduled overtime, as well as successfully pass onsite yearly recertification.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
As an Engineer Lead, you will work alongside engineering staff to maintain continuous facility operations and ensure proper coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Daily responsibilities include monitoring infrastructure systems, performing inspections and maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting operational activities across the facility.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and operating building infrastructure and energy management systems.
- Ensuring continuous operation of critical systems including electrical distribution, HVAC, cooling systems, generators, UPS systems, and other supporting infrastructure.
- Performing preventive maintenance on facility equipment in accordance with company standards, manufacturer recommendations, and industry best practices.
- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Conducting regular facility inspections and documenting equipment condition and operational status.
- Coordinating and overseeing maintenance activities performed by vendors and subcontractors.
- Responding to emergency situations such as equipment failures, alarms, fire events, or facility disruptions.
- Providing technical guidance and day-to-day support to engineering staff.
- Assisting with commissioning, installation, and startup of facility equipment.
- Maintaining accurate work orders, preventative maintenance records, and operational logs using the CMMS system.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety policies, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assisting with facility documentation including reports, maintenance records, and operational updates.
- Supporting ongoing training and development of engineering staff.

Work Environment
