Design Change Coordinator, Senior Design Engineer (SDE)

The Design Change Coordinator (Senior Design Engineer) plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of engineering drawings and design changes prior to implementation in manufacturing. This person is integral to maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of engineering processes, ensuring that changes are meticulously documented prior to implementation. Their multifaceted role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of engineering and manufacturing standards.  Since this role will be working with individuals across multiple organizations within the business, strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.

Design Change Coordinator

  • Organize and run design change board meetings.
  • Review and approve engineering changes.
  • Responsible for efficiency and effectiveness of processes related to engineering changes.
  • Create and maintain work instructions and guidance documents.
  • Train staff on changes related to engineering change tools and documents.
  • Verify the accuracy of engineering deliverables.
  • Define and ensure accurate part setup in PLM and CAD management databases.
  • Approve changes and complete document promotions.

Senior Design Engineer

  • Review and approve engineering design outputs.
  • Mentor Mechanical Engineers related to drawing standards.
  • Verify the accuracy of engineering deliverables.
