As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead highly complex mechanical hardware designs for customer or innovation projects. Additional responsibilities include ensuring technical milestones are achieved, guiding other team members' designs, leading technical design reviews, and ensuring specification requirements input and design outputs align.
Mikros Technologies (a Jabil company) liquid cooling systems are deployed in servers in large AI data centers and help to increase the energy efficiency of these sites. We also make active liquid cooling systems that are utilized in semiconductor test equipment for providing fast thermal control to maintain a constant temperature under a varying heat load.

What will you do?
- Partners with system architects to review and clarify design requirements and define the appropriate mechanical/thermal architecture.
- Lead the mechanical and thermal design of advanced liquid cooling, thermal management, and heat exchanger products and components.
- Expertly assembles prototypes and verifies form/fit/function.
- Work with and manage external component suppliers/manufacturers and provide input to their product roadmaps.
- Communicates technical aspects of a project effectively to internal and external customers.
- Define design innovations and potential patentable solutions.
- Leads resolution of complex design issues and manages design trade-offs.
- Leader in developing and validating complex mechanical products that are required across all Business Units.
- Leads/supervises mechanical layouts utilizing standard tools.
- Directs all aspects of mechanical design with minimal supervision.
- Mentors/coaches/trains engineers with less experience.
- Provides technical leadership and guidance across geographically dispersed teams.
How will you get here?
Education:
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- MSME/PhD is preferred.
Experience:
- 8+ years’ experience in mechanical design and/or verification or other key competency.
- Demonstrated experience in full cycle mechanical design and releasing products into a production environment.
- Required experience designing liquid cooling systems, thermal management solutions, heat exchangers, and related thermal-fluid components.
- Strong thermal design and analysis experience, including heat transfer, fluid flow, and system-level thermal performance optimization.
- Experience leading complex product development programs from concept through production.
- Prior people management experience is preferred.
- Experience managing and developing remote engineering teams is highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Detailed knowledge and use of key development tools and design standards: 3D CAD, Finite Element Analysis, Tolerances, Manufacturing Principles, Interference Checks.
- Broad knowledge developing high complexity projects that have required one or more Mechanical Engineering Design specializations or competencies: Tolerance Analysis, DFM, Serviceability.
- Strong understanding of thermal management technologies, liquid cooling architectures, and heat exchanger design principles.
- Leads mechanical engineering projects with multiple engineers assigned.
