About the roleAs a Lead Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will be involved in test system architectural design from concept to full integration and qualification at system level. The candidate taking up this role will be directly involved in the technical details of developing manufacturing test solution from concept, system architecture, equipment specification, design development, system integration, qualification, deployment, and problem analysis.
In this position, you will be the main liaison between RDD, test suppliers and contract manufacturers in ensuring an ergonomic manufacturing test solution is developed and fit for purpose of high-volume production mode.
In this job scope the candidate must be capable of overseeing high-impact area with great sense of urgency or any critical issues related to test and measurement solution by driving internal and external cross-functional collaboration and execution plan for successful deployment of the test solution at contract manufacturers.
Further to this, you will be responsible for collaborating with upstream and downstream teams related to investigation updates (8D fish bone analysis), findings (RCA), and possible remediations related to manufacturing test issues.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Generate technical document of test equipment considering lean test strategy, test methods, electronics signal interfacing, instrumentation integration and test flow diagram.
Work closely with product design team on manufacturing test requirement, test specification and liaise with the external test equipment suppliers for test system development.
Review supplier’s technical proposal and optimizing it into full scale for high durability and consistency in operation.
Involve at concept and detail design of a manufacturing test equipment through close alignment with product design team and understanding test supplier technical proposal in term of test system architecture design, block diagram, wiring schematics, and system integration.
Work on lean manufacturing test strategy compatible with business needs and bringing value to the manufacturing test process.
Drive engineering deliverables with great sense of urgency on any productivity issues related to the test and measurement system with the support of the respective cross functional teams internally and externally.
Optimise manufacturing test cycle time by streamline manufacturing test script and simplicity of test and measurement design.
Driving continuous improvement plan using statistical tools such as CpK analysis to optimize manufacturing test limits.
Research and recommend new technologies or methods to improve tester efficiency and throughput.
Work with project management team to qualify and deliver test equipment on time and reliably in supporting engineering and volume production.
Work with cross functional RDD, QA, Operation, project management in problem solving related to manufacturing test and measurement system.
Qualifying and commissioning manufacturing test system by using Gauge R&R, factory and site acceptance test criteria.
Candidates must possess at a bachelor’s degree in either Electronics or Mechatronic Engineering with at least 10 years of working experience in electronics manufacturing assembly environment with great knowledge and understanding of manufacturing test and measurement system.
Good knowledge in PCBA and Electronics circuitry designs. Able to read and interpret electronics schematic diagrams.
Good technical knowhow on technology related to rechargeable battery management system, sensors technologies, wireless connectivity, and switch mode power management system.
Great engineering practices on subjects related to Dfx and DfM Processes.
Good knowledge and experience on how various type of electronic instrumentation such as the AC/DC power supplies, electronic load, digital multi-meter, data acquisition system, data input/output interface, wireless routers, IT network infrastructure, imaging test system, high/low voltage test, and industrial barcode readers.
Good engineering fundamentals test stand, LabVIEW programming and C++ programming language with the ability to troubleshoot and debug error message from test equipment and data logging.
Knowledgeable in the test integration with MES production shop flow system.
Good understanding on manufacturing test firmware requirement and development for test system with various type of microcontrollers. Understand the integration of product software with test and measurement system.
Strong team player and able to drive technical deliverables on manufacturing test and able to highlight technical risk and mitigation.
Knowledgeable in statistical process control (SPC), GRnR/Gage1 and data analysis capability (Eg, Minitab Histogram, CpK & etc) for test reliability and optimization.
Good command of English both written and spoken.
