Job Title: Lead Manufacturing Engineer

- The Role:
Lead partners to design and launch the advanced manufacturing processes that build Dyson’s unique products. You will be the key technical interface with our Contract Manufacturers (CM) and Joint Design Manufacturers (JDM) on FATP stage to solve challenges to ensure we deliver high-quality products with ONs(ON TIME, ON SPEC, ON COST, ON QUALITY)
- Key Responsibilities
-Lead & Develop:
Coach and grow a team of high-performing Manufacturing Engineers
-Drive CM/JDM Execution:
Serve as the technical lead for CM and JDM partners. Own the specification, development, and production ramp of manufacturing lines at their sites.
-Solve Hard Problems:
Tackle complex, novel technical issues directly on the production line, often in real-time with our manufacturing partners.
-De-Risk & Validate:
Lead equipment commissioning and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) at CM/JDM facilities, ensuring all processes meet Dyson's rigorous standards.
-Optimize & Improve:
Use data and engineering rigor (like DOE and SPC) to optimize processes, improve yield, and solve production failures within the CM/JDM environment.
-Collaborate Globally:
Work hands-on with internal teams and external partners to get the job done. travel to partner sites is required.
- Qualifications and Experiences
-Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, industrialization, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
-10+ years of experience in designing and launching advanced production line.
-Proven experience as a strong people leader and mentor.
-Have average knowledge on the tests and automation.
-Deep CM/JDM/OEM Management Experience:
* A proven track record of developing and launching manufacturing processes directly with Contract Manufacturers (CM) and/or Joint Design Manufacturers (JDM).
* Experience in driving technical reviews, design for manufacturability (DFM), and cost negotiations with external partners.
* Ability to hold external partners accountable for performance, quality, and delivery timelines.
-Deep, hands-on expertise in:
* Process Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) at external partner sites.
* Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab).
-A hands-on, problem solver mentality. You own the problem and see it through.
-The ability to work autonomously and effectively in a fast-paced, outsourced environment.
