Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Process Safety Leadership: Apply advanced technical expertise and analytical skills to implement and uphold Process Safety Management (PSM) standards in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Process Optimization: Lead comprehensive troubleshooting efforts and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Innovative Problem Solving: Develop and propose creative solutions to address complex manufacturing challenges, leveraging technical knowledge and cross-functional collaboration to navigate interdependent production cycles.
  • Mentorship and Team Development: Serve as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced colleagues, fostering skill development, facilitating consensus, and guiding team members toward shared goals.
  • Change Management: Oversee and facilitate effective management of changes driven by unit requirements, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Technical Training: Lead or support the delivery of technical training programs for operators, enhancing their understanding and proficiency in process operations.
  • Process Improvement Initiatives: Identify and initiate projects aimed at improving process performance, reliability, and efficiency, while driving measurable results.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering)

  • Industry Knowledge: 5–10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, including at least 2 years in a PSM-covered facility.
  • Problem-Solving Methods: Experience with structured problem solving and proficient in one or more methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), DMAIC, or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
