Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Localization Engineer to help build the Agilent's next-generation customer experience solutions with a focus on web experiences, content delivery, commerce, and other digital technologies.

As the Lead Localization Engineer, you’ll be responsible for design, integration, implementation and optimization of Translation Management System (TMS), ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient localization workflows across platforms. You will work on building integrations with TMS to enable localization for our customer facing site(s) and other enterprise platform content. You’ll partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to automate and deliver timely, high-quality translations management pipeline.

What you'll do:
 

  • Design and implement automated end-to-end localization workflows in a Translation Management System (TMS) from and to CXM/AEM, STIBO PIM/MDM, and other enterprise data platforms including file handoffs, translation, localization QA, and multilingual content management for all the target languages.
  • Examine software source code to determine i18n readiness. Provide i18n guidance and provide training to engineers. Answer i18n and l10n technical questions from developers and engineers and support their i18n effort.
  • Partner with marketing and localization managers to understand the workflow pain-points of localization process and come up with solutions.
  • Partner with UI/UX engineers to resolve problems and issues such as hard-coded strings, RTL enablement, and externalization of all localizable elements for translations.
  • Setup foundational infrastructure and enhance a TMS Enterprise tool including translation memory and parsing rules. Extract non-translatable content (images, code string etc.) from the files.
  • Set up test environments for linguistic QA, gather test requirements, create test plan, and test cases, and manage QA process to ensure product passed all tests required to create high quality localized product for each target locale.
  • Work with peer tech leads and architects to integrate translation management system into broader digital eco-system.
  • Work on assessing and implementing AI capabilities to augment translation workflow steps to enhance quality and speed of translations.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. And come up with good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for acquiring scalable solutions. 
  • Communicate with others clearly and precisely (verbally and written) within the Scrum framework to meet the sprint objectives.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • 8+ years of software development experience in distributed cloud native applications. 
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with configuring, integrating, and troubleshooting TMS systems like SDL Trados, XTM, GlobalLink, Wordbee, Cloudwords or Memsource.
  • 3+ years of hands-on coding experience with node.js, JavaScript and Java. 
  • Demonstrable experience of fundamentals with AI technologies and Natural language processing (NLP), translation memories, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Experience with testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies such as JUnit or Selenium.
  • Comfortable with Git or similar version control systems and workflows
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in l10n and i18n tools and technologies. Familiar with i18n libraries, Unicode CLDR and ICU libraries
  • Understanding of localization best practices and familiarity with common “gotchas” for localization.
  • Passion for developing processes, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience tracking and managing multiple projects.
  • A desire to work closely with others to deliver quality software and solve problems
  • Willingness to be on a constant learning journey and continuously go above and beyond the comfort zone into different technology areas.
  • Experience in collaborating with remote team members.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with AWS will be preferred.
  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems (i.e., Adobe Experience Manager, Drupal, Sitecore, WebCenter Sites)

This job has a full time weekly schedule.
