What You'll Do
Epic Games is looking for a Lead Level Designer to join our dynamic team, contributing across various aspects of game design for our collaboration with Disney. In this role, you’ll drive a team of designers in order to create compelling POIs and experiences for our players.
In this role, you will
- Lead the vision and outcome of POIs and levels that focus on building cooperative and compelling gameplay spaces
- Lead, develop, and grow the design team, enabling designers to achieve their career goals and best outcomes while also increasing the capabilities of the team
- Roll up your sleeves and dive into some IC work when needed and lead by example to set the quality bar for design
- Actively participate in big-picture decisions and ensure the design team focuses on the right elements to achieve superior results
- Work closely with production to identify, prioritize, assign, and evaluate design work
What we're looking for
- Minimum 7+ years of experience shipping multiple titles as a level designer
- 2+ years of experience in a Lead Level Designer role, with demonstrated ability to manage or lead a team effectively
- Experience using a level editor (UE5, or similar)
- Direct involvement with prop placement, lighting, mood/atmosphere, and design markup
- Experience working closely and communicating with artists
- Demonstrated ability to improvise and creatively solve problems
