Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Java trading Software Engineer in Fixed Income Currency and Commodities (FICC) Data Technology as part of Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology.
This team is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing features that drive the data strategy for the Fixed Income Electronic Trading line of business.
We are looking for ahighly accomplished Lead Software Engineerwith deep expertise in building large-scale, low-latency systems to join our technology team. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a seasoned technologist with a strong background in Java, Python, and time series data, and a proven track record in capital markets. In this role, you will:
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of high-performance, low-latency applications using Java.
- Drive the implementation of large-scale data ingestion pipelines and real-time analytics platforms.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, and system design.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, quants, and data scientists to deliver solutions that support data-driven business initiatives.
- Utilize Python for data processing, automation, and integration with AI/ML workflows.
- Design and optimize systems leveraging time series databases for high-volume financial data.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies, especially in AI and Machine Learning, to enhance system capabilities.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of all developed systems.
- Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
- Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
- Mentor less experienced software engineers
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively
- 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong emphasis on Java.
- 5+ years of experience in capital markets, preferably in trading, risk, or market data systems.
- 5+years of low-latency architecture, multithreading, and performance optimization.
- 5+years experience time series databases (e.g., kdb+, InfluxDB, OneTick, Deephaven).
- Strong Python development skills, particularly in data engineering and automation.
- Strong understanding of how to leverage high-velocity data persistence and reporting for strategy development and monitoring.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and building large-scale, distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, system integration, and design patterns.
- Exposure to multiple Fixed Income asset classes, including Rates, FX, and Spread products like Credit Corps, MBS etc.
- Strong knowledge of AMMs, Market Data Feeds, Order Books, and D2D/D2C trading flows for US Treasuries, Corporate Bonds, Munis and FX
- Experience or strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their application in financial systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated experience in leading the architecture, design, and development of high-performance, low-latency Java applications, as well as overseeing the implementation of large-scale data ingestion pipelines and real-time analytics platforms, is required.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$159,000.00 - $305,000.00
